A-Level Results, here’s what to expect on the day
Here’s what to expect on A-level result day;
Log onto UCAS Track and you’ll be able to find out whether your firm choice has already confirmed your place. Track opens around 8am.
You should be able to get on there from that point – but thousands of other people are going to be trying to do exactly the same thing, so try not to stress too much if the site seems to be running slowly.
If you’ve got the A-level results you wanted, huge congratulation!
Clearing now you have your A-level results
If you didn’t quite get what you want then we have a few tips and pointers to help you along the way.
Furthermore, Clearing helps to find a course at university or college if you don’t have a place.
You can apply for a course using Clearing if you’re not already holding an offer from a university or college, and the course still has places.
You can use Clearing if:
you’re applying after a certain date
you didn’t receive any offers (or none you wanted to accept)
you didn’t meet the conditions of your offers

Apprenticeships
We also know that University isn’t for everyone, so why not try an apprenticeship?
Here’s some information on how apprenticeships work:
As an apprentice you’ll:
gain job-specific skills
work alongside experienced staff
earn a wage and get holiday pay
get time for study related to your role (usually one day a week)
You can apply for an apprenticeship while you’re still at school. To start one, you’ll need to be:
Apprenticeships take 1 to 5 years to complete depending on their level.
16 or over by the end of the summer holidays
living in England
not in full-time education
If you feel you’re not ready for an apprenticeship, a traineeship is a course designed to prepare you for one.
Last but not least
If you think you would like to take a break from study before applying for university again the following year, take a look at the option of a gap year or countries where you’d like to spend a year working abroad.

Please remember that not every successful business person has been successful at A-Levels or University.
For example, Alan, Sugar left school at the age of just 16, with no qualifications. Dragons Den star Deborah Meaden is another who left school before taking any A Levels, Beyoncé & Rihanna also left school young. Don’t put pressure on yourself and just focus on what’s right for you.
