A Level Results!

A-level results are released this morning, Thursday 16 August 2018.

Here’s what to expect from your day;

Log onto UCAS Track and you’ll be able to find out whether your firm choice has already confirmed your place. Track has opened from around 8am.

You should be able to get on there from that point – but thousands of other people are going to be trying to do exactly the same thing, so try not to stress too much if the site seems to be running slowly.

If you’ve got the results you wanted then a huge congratulation!

If you didn’t quite get what you want then we have a few tips and pointers to help you along the way.

Clearing helps to find a course at university or college if you don’t have a place.

From 5 July to 23 October, you can apply for a course using Clearing if you’re not already holding an offer from a university or college, and the course still has places.

You can use Clearing if:

  • you’re applying after 30 June
  • you didn’t receive any offers (or none you wanted to accept)
  • you didn’t meet the conditions of your offers

We also know that University isn’t for everyone, so why not try an apprenticeship?

Here’s some information on how apprenticeships work:

As an apprentice you’ll:

  • work alongside experienced staff
  • gain job-specific skills
  • earn a wage and get holiday pay
  • get time for study related to your role (usually one day a week)

Apprenticeships take 1 to 5 years to complete depending on their level.

You can apply for an apprenticeship while you’re still at school. To start one, you’ll need to be:

  • 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays
  • living in England
  • not in full-time education

If you feel you’re not ready for an apprenticeship, a traineeship is a course designed to prepare you for one.
