What Happens now After Receiving my A-Level Results

A-levels

What if I don’t get the A-Level grades I need? Don’t panic there are a number of options open to you.

Firstly with A-Level grades

If you’ve missed getting the grades you needed by just a few marks, you can talk to the university in question. The University are under no obligation to reconsider their decision, especially with places so competitive but they may listen to you if you plan to appeal any grades. Alternatively, you could simply accept the decision and go through the results day Clearing process instead on this link.

If you do feel you could have achieved better grades, you may be able to sit A-level retakes. This means that you could still take up a university place as planned or delay your entry for a year until you get your results.

Secondly

University is not the only choice for you. You can build an amazing career thrpugh many routes. You might wish to think about securing an apprenticeship to get some work experience while you learn. Check out our blog

Last but not least

If you think you would like to take a break from study before applying for university again the following year, take a look at the option of a gap year or countries where you’d like to spend a year working abroad. Bear in mind that some travel restrictions may still be in place due to COVID-19. For more information on the situation check out GOV.UK – Foreign travel advice.

Please remember that not every successful business person has been successful at A-Levels or University.

For example, Alan, Sugar left school at the age of just 16, with no qualifications. Dragons Den star Deborah Meaden is another who left school before taking any A Levels, Beyoncé & Rihanna also left school young. Don’t put pressure on yourself and just focus on what’s right for you.
