The truth will come out so prove it

Most employers will want you to prove your qualifications and your identity during the process of offering you a job. This may be right at the beginning at the interview stage or it could be at the point of offer.

Generally, they will want to see an original document to prove your ID this will be one of the following:

Birth Certificate 

Driving Licence

British Passport

Right to work – share code

Prove It

Claiming for qualifications on your CV? You will need to prove them. This can be a photo of them a physical copy or an email confirming you were award it. If you can’t prove it with a document don’t claim it on your CV.

Another thing to keep in mind is if your driving licence has the correct address son it. Did you know it is an offence not to update your details with the DVLA. A fine of up to £1000 can be issued. Your insurance company can reject any claim or cancel your policy if they find out. It is free to update on their website so make sure all your ducks are in a row to save yourself some pennies. You can then use this as proof of address for employers who require you to prove this (maybe for a DBS check). Additionally, update the new address on your log book.

Its always best to tell the truth and be honest. If you need help obtaining documents to prove what your claiming, reach out to those who originally issued the documents. For example, driving licence contact DVLA. Passport you will need to contact the government through the website and apply and pay for a new copy. Degree certificates can be obtained for a fee from your university.
