Christmas In 2020: How You Can Still Enjoy It

Even though there are restrictions on what you can and can’t do (much like the rest of the year) there is still LOTS you can make the most of! Here is a list of different ways you can enjoy your Christmas despite the restrictions.

Go For A Winter Walk

You might have to wrap up to avoid being frozen but going for a winter walk with a view can be a great way to get out and see friends and family whilst adhering to government restrictions. Grab your coat and a festive hot drink and enjoy the outside. You can even venture to new parks/lakes/forests to keep it interesting.

See the Christmas Lights

Whether it’s getting in the car and driving through the neighbourhoods that have put the effort in, or searching for some fancy outside light displays (Blenheim Palace) this can be a great way to feel festive. There’s something magical about seeing fairy lights in all their glory so if you haven’t already, why not give it a try.

Make Some Christmas Themed Food Or Drinks

What better time than to try out some new festive recipes. The list is endless! Tasty food and novelty cocktails, you can’t go wrong. Go for the classic iced cookies and snowballs or even make some up yourself.

Decorate!

Decorating for Christmas goes without saying really, BUT now that we all have so much more time at home why not go that bit extra? More Santa figures, extra Rudolph’s, bigger wreathes, endless lights, the more the merrier! May as well make your home feel extra festive to make up for the lack of going out. If you have little ones to entertain, (or just a lot of spare time on your hands), why not showcase your creativity and make some of your own.

Watch All The Christmas Movies

There may be limits to what you can do outside, but there’s no limits to how many movies you can watch. Dedicate some time to family movies nights, get the popcorn and blankets and treat it like a cinema (no talking!) and watch all your favourite films.

Schedule In Some Video Chats

We all have people that we wish we could see but for the time being aren’t able to. Schedule in some video calls with your friends and family and have a game night, or a drink or just a good old catch up. Even though we can’t be together physically doesn’t mean we can still stay connected.

This may not be the ideal Christmas but it doesn’t mean we can’t make the most of what we have!
