Purpose:

To support the technical team across a wide range of tasks including project co-ordinating, testing, technical support, content building and internal infrastructure support, providing opportunities to understand the full technical development function.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working through the induction program and development modules.

Technical projects

  • Understand the requirements of those projects you are supporting in order to be able to undertake all duties as assigned by the project manager.
  • Ensure all issues/bugs are logged into Jira to ensure there is a complete representation of work to be undertaken and fully explained.
  • Support project manager with changes to help files and website as required.
  • Add speech exceptions to file.

Customer technical support

  • Ensure all queries are logged, tracked, and reviewed to satisfactory resolution.
  • Provide support via phone, email, online meetings, and webchat.
  • Deliver excellent levels of customer service that underpin the retention of and growth in loyal clients

Testing

  • Follow test plans and provide feedback.
  • Carry out stress testing, performance testing, functional testing and scalability testing as directed.
  • Add bugs/issues to JIRA with clear explanations and steps to reproduce.
  • Review and test documentation.
  • Help troubleshoot issues as directed.
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing

Internal IT support

  • Undertake day-to-day internal IT support, ensuring all are logged and time recorded.
  • Install and configure software and computer systems as directed.
  • Resolving logged tickets assigned to you in a timely manner.
  • Proactive support for users on a rolling program as directed.

Content building

  • Create resources, using content designed by Content Development, to quality standards and in line with agreed timescale.
  • Test curriculum-based applications using test plan template to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Process graphics files and screenshots to support creation and uploading of resources for LearningGrids.

Supporting UX design

  • Understand the education market – work with other team members to understand why the software is used as well as how it is used.
  • Provide support for the UX/UI designer on market data and support them with any project reports or information needed.

Other

  • Undertake project work as delegated.
  • Any other duties as requested.

HOLIDAY: 39 days holiday per annum – 28 days holiday plus bank holidays plus 3 personal days

HOURS OF WORK: Monday – Friday 9.00 – 17.00 1-hour lunch (35-hour week)

Interview Process:

Two stage process:

 

The first interview will be a Microsoft Teams video call.

If the candidate does not have a webcam on their PC, they can use a smart phone or tablet. The first interview will be question based, focusing on soft skills.

The second interview will be face to face at our office. The second interview will be technical questions with some IT and literacy tests.
