This client provides many of the UK’s most recognised financial brands with market leading software to support Training and Competence, Learning Management, Quality Assurance and Customer feedback.

They have many years of combined experience in the financial services sector showing their understanding of the needs of the industry and the challenges customers face.  They constantly refine modules to improve performance, sales quality and the customer experience.

The company understands the importance of management information in keeping business both efficient and compliant.  The interoperability of their modules enables customers to drive improvements across business units.  For example, to initiate learning needs based on root cause analysis from complaints; to ensure that performance reviews are based on factual MI and that corrective action can be initiated and tracked; or to identify potential vulnerabilities and to automate intelligent file checking to mitigate risk.

Roles & Responsibilities

Our client is expanding and they are looking for 3 Junior / Mid-Level Full Stack developers to join them within their Agile product development team.

You’ll be helping the client build their next generation of regulatory/compliance web applications focussed around a React-based client and .NET C# / SQL back end.

This is a full-time position for someone with 3+ years of relevant experience who is proficient in a number of backend and frontend technologies, together with Microsoft frameworks and tool chains.

C#, JS, SQL, HTML5, CSS

React/Redux, Typescript, Single Page Applications, SaaS

Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, NUnit, Selenium, Scrum/Kanban, Octopus Deploy

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a full stack team that designs, develops and delivers web-based solutions to the cloud and our standard hosted environments.
  • Focus will be on server-side C# .NET integrating with our SQL Server backend using Entity Framework. You will also be expected to contribute to React-based front end development.
  • Produce and influence high standards in code deliverables using techniques such as, unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD etc.
  • Collaborate with all areas of the business to ensure that products can be smoothly transitioned from initial requirements through to design and subsequently on to release.
  • Participate in design discussions with a focus on providing clean, maintainable solutions with a great user experience.
  • Assist our Customer Support team to troubleshoot issues with customer environments and provide sustainable resolutions.
  • Be able to work on a number of projects at varying stages simultaneously, efficiently context-switch and be highly responsive to the needs of your colleagues.

Skills Required

We are looking for a developer who can integrate well into the client’s environment, characterised as hard working and delivery focussed, where colleagues rely heavily on each other’s capabilities in order to succeed. Candidates should have exceptional attention to detail and an end user focus. They have a mix of expertise but everyone shares professionalism, commitment, and a set of personal qualities that, together, make for a fun and respectful working environment.

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar.
  • At least 3 years’ commercial experience in producing robust, secure, scalable web-based applications in an Agile/Lean/Scrum environment.
  • Demonstratable competency in C# and .Net server-side components.
  • Experience in interfacing to SQL databases, ideally with Entity Framework and competence with T-SQL.
  • Intermediate experience with HTML, CSS.
  • Very good analytical and communication skills.
  • Passionate about unit testing (BDD, TDD).
  • Enthusiasm towards technology, development process and continuous improvement

Desirables:

  • Exposure to .Net Framework and .Net Core, in particular, experience in implementing WebAPI controllers.
  • Familiarity with older ASP.NET coding.
  • Unit testing using Rhino Mocks and Moq.
  • Understanding and experience in using Javascript/Typescript frontend frameworks such as React or Angular to produce Single Page Applications. Use of Typescript would be beneficial.
  • Azure DevOps for workflow and Git or similar for source control.
  • Experience in a CI/CD environment and automated testing.
  • Commercial experience of delivering a SaaS solution in a hosted or cloud environment would be an advantage.
  • A knowledge of the Financial Services industry

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

All interviews will be held on Teams.

First stage: Held with the Senior .NET Developer & Authentication Specialist, Foundation Development Team Lead and the Accord Team Lead

Second interview:  Second stage will introduce the Full stack Developer and .NET Developer, followed by interview with the Chief Technical Officer and HR Assistant.

Recruitment & Onboarding Process:

The Office is open, and as such we expect colleagues to attend the office at least twice a week. It might be more depending on workload requirements. New candidates might be required to attend the office more to work with the team and learn the systems etc.

This role is Based in Milton Keynes with some working from home (but this is not a remote-only position)
