Roles & Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious graduate to join a well-established company. Due to continued success and growth of the business we are looking to recruit a graduate to start off by following a 12-month training programme.

The successful applicant will work closely with Business Development Managers to identify sales leads, pitch products and services to existing customers and solicit new business customers, to increase sales revenues, whilst developing and maintaining good relationships with customers.

As a Graduate trainee they will undertake training to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Identify new business opportunities, set up and attend meetings with current and prospective customers.
  • Demonstrate and present company products and service offering.
  • Provide clients with quotations and close sales.
  • Achieve individual sales targets and objectives.
  • Produce daily / weekly / monthly reports, as required.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships by providing support, information and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities and service improvements.
  • Identify product/service improvements or new products/services by remaining current on industry trends, market activities and competitors.
  • Support the Sales Director to meet all department KPIs.
  • Support the Tenders Team compiling responses for submissions, as required.
  • Undertaking professional development and training required as part of the Graduate Training Programme.

January 2019 – please note this scheme will not be suitable for 2019 graduates.

Skills Required


  • Relevant experience gained in any commercial area involving contact with customers or the general public is desirable.
  • Degree in business or similar subjects is essential. Grade 2:1 or above is desirable.
  • Computer literate, competent user of Microsoft Office applications, with strong numeracy skills.


  • Dynamic and ambitious person with a professional attitude, looking for a challenge and to make a positive difference.
  • Mature, confident and assertive.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated to seek out new opportunities for personal and organisational development.

  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel, when required.
