Roles & Responsibilities

Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career with a market leader? Due to continued success our client is looking for Trainees to join the team in a permanent role to help with ambitious plans within their Distribution Network.

Previous experience within Transport or Distribution is preferred, however not essential as full training is provided.

Initial duties will involve:

  • Planning/routing
  • Driver debrief – excellent communication required
  • Tachograph analysis
  • Resource allocation
  • Communication
  • Damaged goods procedures
  • Knowledge of legislation
  • Paperwork handling
  • Fuel management
  • Compliance management
  • Any other relevant duties

Skills Required

  • Degree in business, logistics, analytical or economics related fields
  • Outstanding initiative

  • Demonstrate experience in the transport/logistics sector – desirable

  • Must have full driving license and own transport


  • Company car or car allowance equivalent (6k) once employee has become a planner
  • Discretionary bonus scheme.
  • Pension: After 12 months you can join the Company contributory pension scheme (Employee contributes 6% and Company contributes 6%)

HOURS OF WORK: Please note when you first start and during training you will work Monday to Friday and then be moved onto a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Hours tend to be based around 7am – 5pm or 8am – 6pm with a 1hour break.

HOLIDAY: Four weeks plus bank holidays, after 3 years entitlement increases by 3 days
