Roles & Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious graduate to join a well-established company. Due to continued success and growth of the business our client is looking to recruit a graduate to start off by following a 12-month training programme.


  • Support the planning of production and logistics within a factory and manufacturing environment.
  • Plan workflow and schedules for production departments on a daily basis to ensure the efficient running of production through print and finish, Direct Mail, Digital and Point of Sale.
  • Review daily production plans with other members of the team and key stakeholders.
  • Allocate, distribute, monitor and check work, as required.
  • Produce daily / weekly / monthly reports, as required.
  • Ensure timely, full and accurate communications with key individuals and all relevant departments on any factors which impact on delivery dates, commitments to customer, quality etc.
  • Develop the knowledge to determine production requirements based on plant capacity and production specifications.

As well as having the main focus of the role on the above tasks and area of business the successful candidate will also learn all elements of the business including the following:

Creative: an understanding of the creative design process, from the initial concept to the finished product, ready to present to the client.

Digital media: an awareness of web development projects and digital solutions.

Pre-press: introduction to electronic reproduction and related processes prior to printing.

Print: basic principles of lithographic offset and digital printing with a hands-on experience of state-of-the-art press technology

Finishing: post-print finishing techniques including guillotine, folding, stitching, laminating and related bindery processes.

Account management & sales: assisting Account Managers with client-facing opportunities.

Production management: working with the production team to manage print projects from start to finish.

Finance: overview of commercial accounting and financial management.

Skills Required

  • Previous work experience within a production, logistics, planning or manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Studies is essential. Grade 2:1 or above is desirable.
  • Computer literate, competent user of Microsoft Office applications, with strong numeracy and data analysis skills.
  • Able to demonstrate advanced Excel skills.
  • Dynamic and ambitious with a professional attitude, looking for a challenge and to make a positive difference.
  • Mature, confident and assertive.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Self-motivated to seek out new opportunities for personal and organisational development.
  • Able to express ideas and impart key messages clearly, confidently and effectively through both written and oral communications to a variety of audiences.
