Roles & Responsibilities

Due to increased customer demand, we are looking to recruit a Commercial Assistant to join their commercial team in the Northamptonshire area. Within this exciting role you will be reporting to the Commercial Controller. You will work closely with the sales and finance teams on pricing initiatives and new business tenders. This position requires an exceptional individual who is commercially focused, methodical in their approach and able to build effective working relationships both internally and externally. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Price new/current specifications for new and existing customers and generate quotations working closely with different departments to get accurate costing and pricing
  • Process price changes in an accurate and timely fashion including generating new price lists when necessary
  • Liaise with the finance team around price changes to ensure orders are correctly invoiced
  • Support the sales team with commercial work for tenders from pre tender to final outcomes including completing any internal/customer files that may be required
  • Help maintain SAP costing system for the region
  • Keep monthly indexation trackers up to date and undertake reviews as and when required
  • Help and support our external sales team and IPM with business improvement initiatives and customer cost down projects
  • Always looking to improve margin
  • Support any ad hoc analysis/projects/report as requests

Skills Required

  • Degree Educated – relevant to role.
  • PC Literate and complete understanding of Microsoft (Excel – modelling, reporting, data manipulation, pivot tables, V lookups
  • Accurate and attention to detail
  • Analytical/Numerical minded
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Able to organise and prioritise work load in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Creative thinking that continually seeks improvements with the confidence to share knowledge

Desirable

  • Manufacturing experience
  • Economics like P&L and balance sheet
  • SAP experience

HOURS OF WORK: 35hrs – 8am – 4pm or 9am – 5pm (Flexible)

Office based role.

HOLIDAYS: 20 days paid holiday + bank holidays increasing with length of service
