Roles & Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious graduate to join a well-established company. Due to continued success and growth of the business we are looking to recruit a graduate to start off by following a 12-month training programme.

The successful applicant will work closely with customers, colleagues and suppliers to deliver a profitable, high quality service. Develop relationships on key accounts to solicit new business.  As a Graduate trainee they will undertake training to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.


  • Taking briefs from customers, establish and understand requirements.
  • Thoughtfully challenge customer briefs to ensure the most suitable and cost effective solutions are found for both parties.
  • Creating accurate and profitable estimations for projects.
  • Evaluating projects on an ongoing basis in terms of delivery, quality and profitability.
  • Identify risks to delivery and escalate these to the Account Manager.
  • Producing client invoicing accurately and within designated time frames.
  • Developing and maintain customer relationships by providing support, information and guidance; researching and recommending alternative solutions.
  • Ensuring timely, full and accurate communications with key individuals and all relevant departments on any factors which impact on price, delivery dates, commitments to customer, etc.
  • Producing daily / weekly / monthly reports, as required.
  • Supporting the Commercial Managers / Account Management Director to meet all department KPIs.
  • Supporting the Tenders Team compiling responses for submissions, as required.
  • Undertaking professional development and training required as part of the Graduate Training Programme.

You will go through a 12-month training programme which will be tailored to your specific role.  Progress will be monitored by periodic assessments. As well as having the main focus of the role on the above tasks and area of business the successful candidate will also learn all elements of the business including the following:

  • Creative: an understanding of the creative design process, from the initial concept to the finished product, ready to present to the client.
  • Digital media: an awareness of web development projects and digital solutions.
  • Pre-press: introduction to electronic reproduction and related processes prior to printing.
  • Print: basic principles of lithographic offset and digital printing with a hands-on experience of state-of-the-art press technology.
  • Finishing: post-print finishing techniques including guillotine, folding, stitching, laminating and related bindery processes.
  • Account management & sales: assisting Account Managers with client-facing opportunities.
  • Production management: working with the production team to manage print projects from start to finish.
  • Finance: overview of commercial accounting and financial management.

Skills Required

  • Relevant experience gained in any commercial area involving contact with customers or the general public is desirable.
  • Degree in business or similar discipline is essential. Grade 2:1 or above is desirable.
  • Computer literate, competent user of Microsoft Office applications, with strong numeracy skills.
  • Able to demonstrate advanced Excel skills.
  • Dynamic and ambitious person with a professional attitude, looking for a challenge and to make a positive difference.
  • Mature, confident and assertive.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated to seek out new opportunities for personal and organisational development.
  • Commercial acumen.
